Has Wal-Mart changed its policies or treat employees any better since they have a bad reputation?
Ever since Wal-Mart was in the news about treating people poorly, have they changed their policies at all as far as employees are concerned?
I recently was hired at a store in upstate NY, for $8.25 an hour stocking shelves part-time in the pharmacy dept, and I have my orientation this Thursday. I'm not concerned about health insurance, I have my own policy, but as far as time off, calling in sick, the overall way you are treated, etc, are things I am curious about.
I know it will vary from store to store, but I am looking for people who have recently worked for them, or still do work for them.
I'm told I can wear khaki/tan pants, and any sort of navy blue shirt as long as it is neat with no logos...so that doesn't sound too horrible.
Thank you!
I have a friend who's been at Wal-Mart for over 10 years. No, things haven't improved. I recommend Target over Wal-Mart.
Although, I'm done with the whole retail b.s. thing myself. That's what made me go to college. I'm intelligent and I don't tolerate being treated like a child or inferior. I'm responsible.
That's what I didn't like about working retail. It seemed one size fits all.
